Case Overview:

Our client purchased a 2022 compact vehicle from a major manufacturer, expecting advanced safety features, high-quality engineering, and reliable performance. Instead, the vehicle exhibited repeated failures of critical systems and finishing components, along with defects that compromised safety and violated warranty protections.

Ongoing Mechanical issues:

  • Travel Assist System Failures: The advanced safety system was randomly unavailable, leaving the driver without critical assistance features.
  • Electrical Faults: Steering wheel replaced due to electrical issues linked to Travel Assist. Problems returned within 24 hours.
  • ABS Malfunctions: At 40 MPH during turns, the vehicle produced traction control noises and vibrations in the floorboards—without warning lights.
  • Infotainment System Defects: Screen went blank and instrument cluster rebooted repeatedly. Despite two replacements, the issue persisted.
  • Shifter Handle Defect: Replaced by the dealership but remained loose, creating additional safety concerns.
  • Additional Warranty Breaches: Rear-view camera fogged during rain, defective tires required replacement, radiator failed after three months, poor fuel mileage, and intermittent Bluetooth connectivity.

Impact On The Client

These defects caused significant inconvenience, safety risks, and financial burden. The client lost confidence in the vehicle and faced repeated trips to the dealership without resolution.

Legal Challenges

This claim was persued under the Viginia Lemon Law, demonstrating repeated breaches of warranty and failure to repair defects within a reasonable time.

Case Results

The case was resolved with a buy back of the vehicle, and ensuring our client received fair compensation for the manufacturer’s failures.
