Subaru's top rating is based on comfort, utility, performance and reliability.  This was Subaru's first time to rank number 1 for Consumer REports.
Honday, who has won the last four years, fell to fourth among the 13 manufacuturers.  Mazda ranked 2nd and Toyota came in third.
