Senate Kills Bill Meant to Crack Down on Lending Abuses

Comments (0)

This is what big money from Pay Day lenders gets when it pays certain state representatives, like Sen. Saslaw. The senator spoke to two different companies and the companies promised they wouldn't break any laws again, even though they have routinely broken the law in the past. It is ridiculous that Senators had the opportunity to pass a bill that would prevent this from happening, yet they believed the two companies "promises." Well, those two companies that promised not to break the law again can speak for themselves, but what about the other companies that made no such promise?

Read the article here, describing how the senate struck down bills that would prevent payday and car title lenders from skirting state laws.
