BMW announced it will recall 1.3 million BMW series 5 and 6 vehicles built between 2003 and 2010.  This is due to an electrical flaw in the battery cable.  BMW said the battery cable cover may be incorrectly mounted which could lead to electrical malfunctions and the car's failure to start.  There have been no accidents reported in association with this.

It is a good thing that no injuries or accidents have been reported due to this minor fault. BMW is known for its reputable high quality of workmanship and if it ever encounters any faults such as this, is usually minor and very unlikely to result in any fatalities. The glitch will also be fixed within a short period of time and hassle free.

I think this is a testament to how well BMW handles issues. Surely a recall like that will cost them a lot of money, but with out question it will continue to build loyalty and trust for the brand. I hope they get back on track soon.
