  A national mill firm is a national firm who claims to help people in many sections of the country.  The national mill firms will try to get you a quick, but low settlement and is more interested the the quantity of its clients rather than the quality of its results.  Their support staff, which is usually not located in Virginia, does all the work rather than a Virginia lawyer.  Even if they claim to have a lawyer in Virginia, he or she is often just a "storefront" so they can say you will be represented by a local lawyer.
